Hatching your eggs

  • Warm tap water
  • Aquarium salt
  • Brine Shrimp eggs
  • Air pump & air line
  • Lamp

  1. Add 1 Litter of warm tap water into your hatchery.
  2. Add 1 heaping table spoon of aquarium salt (1 Tbs per 1 L).
  3. Set up your air pump and air line. Once you have done so place the air line into the top of the hatchery and let it sit on the bottom. Let the salt completely dissolve before moving onto the next step.
  4. Place the amount of eggs you wish to hatch into the hatchery
  5. Turn on the lamp. Place it so that way the light is directly shining onto the hatchery
  6. Leave the hatchery for about 48 hours.
  7. The Brine Shrimp is now hatched and is ready for you to feed!

Brine Shrimp eggs (Artemia Cyst) are sold in two sizes 100 g bags sealed shut and resealable and approx 6 g resealable bags. Brine Shrimp is a great food source for fresh and saltwater fish. Baby Brine Shrimp ( bbs ) are high in nutrition and most commonly used to feed hatchlings/fry ( baby fish ) or to vary the diet of your fish. If they will fit into your fish's mouths, they will gobble them up!

  • 2 Soft Drink Bottles
  • Knife/Scissors

  1.  Grab the first bottle and cut off the base of the bottle. Keep the lid on tightly and do not destroy the bottle attempting to cut off the base.
  2. Grab the second bottle and cut 1/3 away from the base. You can be a little more careless how you cut this one since you won’t need the top half of the bottle.
  3.  Place the First bottle upside down into the second bottle.
